Stages of Conducting a Comprehensive Facility Inspection
To ensure that the commissioning of the facility proceeds smoothly, on time, and without unexpected expenses, our specialists carry out the work in strict chronological stages:
1. Preparation for the Work
This stage sets the foundation for the future technical audit. We conduct a thorough project documentation analysis to verify compliance with current industry standards and technical regulations:
- Reviewing layouts, schematics, and plans of engineering utilities.
- Aligning the technical assignment and onsite work schedule with the client.
- Preparing, calibrating, and checking measurement instruments and tools.
2. Preliminary Inspection
A visual and initial on-site technical audit of the equipment allows us to build a general picture of the condition of the utility systems:
- Initial inspection of power supply systems, heating, ventilation, and instrumentation (I&C).
- Detection of visible defects, structural damage to cabling, and mechanical wear.
- Assessing whether the actual placement of machinery matches the design drawings.
3. Instrumental Measurements
The most critical physical stage, where the actual operating performance of the systems is captured using high-precision devices:
- Carrying out instrumental measurements of actual loads and operating parameters of the machinery.
- Thermal imaging (infrared inspection) — detecting overheated electrical connections and hidden energy losses in building envelopes.
- Vibration analysis and ultrasonic measurements to evaluate the wear of rotating parts and wall thickness of pressure vessels.
- Testing the operational loops of control systems and measuring and control instruments.
4. Data Processing and Analysis
Once field operations are complete, our engineering team proceeds with detailed diagnostics and calculations:
- Analyzing measurement results and comparing them with both design and state standard indicators.
- Assessing the remaining lifetime resource of the equipment, cabling, and automated devices.
- Estimating potential operational and safety risks during future facility operations.
- Developing custom recommendations to reduce operational costs and increase energy efficiency by 15-30%.
Final Documentation (Deliverable):
Upon completing all phases, the client is presented with an official and comprehensive technical report, which includes:
- Detailed Technical Passport of the Facility describing the actual status of all engineering networks.
- Defects and Malfunctions Report (Punch List) — list of components requiring immediate repair, calibration, or replacement.
- Industrial Safety Assessment confirming the facility's compliance with safety regulations and readiness for pre-commissioning (PNR) works.
